Privacy Policy

This is the personal portfolio of James (Jamey) Yarbrough. This page explains the limited data the site collects, why, and the choices you have.

Who is responsible

James Yarbrough is the data controller for this site. For any privacy question or request, email contact@jamesconary.com.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you submit are stored in the site database and emailed to me (via Resend) so I can reply. This information is used only to respond to you — it is never sold or used for marketing.

Legal basis

I process contact-form data on the basis of legitimate interest — namely, responding to the enquiry you chose to send me. I do not rely on consent for this, so there is nothing to opt into and nothing that is withheld if you do not.

How long data is kept

Contact messages are automatically deleted after 12 months. You can ask me to delete yours sooner at any time.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that collects aggregate usage data such as page views, approximate location, and device type. It does not track you across other sites or set advertising cookies.

Cookies

The public site sets no tracking cookies. A single functional preference (your light/dark theme) is stored locally in your browser, and an authentication cookie is used only in the private admin area, which site visitors do not access.

Where your data goes

The database is hosted in the European Union (Neon, Frankfurt). Some processors operate in the United States: Vercel (hosting and analytics) and Resend (contact email); Cloudflare R2 stores site media. These international transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses in those providers’ terms. No personal data is sold.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to request a copy of it (portability). To exercise any of these, email contact@jamesconary.com and I will respond.

Complaints

If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
